The Evolution of Ceramic Arts in North America
Ceramic forms are much like photos. Functioning as a screenshot of sorts, it records time in different ways: throwing lines, fingerprints, the effects of oxidation and reduction in fired glazes. These moments become key in why the piece looks the way it does, becoming a visual record of the moment and all of ceramic history. The most important North American pottery was made in the southwest.
